About us
Welcome! This meetup dedicated to all professionals involved in Cyber Security for Automated Processes and Control Systems including security for Operating Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA Systems, Transportation Systems, Building Control Systems (BCS), and even emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Our purpose is to connect the professionals in the Greater Phoenix area with real interest in or responsibility for the cyber security of these systems.
Once we have enough critical mass of interest in Phoenix, we will gather for purposes of education, information exchange, and discovery of new opportunities and, yes, perhaps a few happy hours! If you are interested in serving on a committee to help shape this meetup experience, please contact the organizers directly.

(CS)²AI Online™: Engineering Expertise-Core Skills for ICS/OT Cybersecurity
·OnlineOnline5 attendees from 112 groupsIndustrial control systems and operational technology sit at the center of the world's critical infrastructure — and the practitioners defending them need a fundamentally different skillset than traditional IT security teams. Join us for a (CS)²AI Online™ Seminar: Engineering Expertise-Core Skills for ICS/OT Cybersecurity, a panel discussion bringing together leading experts to break down what it actually takes to build and sustain a career in ICS/OT cybersecurity.
Our speakers will cover the foundational and advanced competencies every OT security practitioner needs, including:
- Understanding industrial protocols, PLCs, SCADA, and control system architecture
- Bridging the IT/OT divide — translating security concepts across engineering and cybersecurity teams
- Risk assessment and threat modeling specific to physical processes and safety systems
- Incident response and recovery when uptime and safety are non-negotiable
- Navigating standards and frameworks like IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, and sector-specific regulations
- Career pathways: certifications, hands-on experience, and how to break into the field
Whether you're an IT security professional looking to move into OT, an engineer expanding into cybersecurity, or a practitioner sharpening your existing skills, this session will give you a clear-eyed view of what the field demands — and how to get there.
Who should attend: Security analysts, control systems engineers, IT/OT convergence teams, CISOs and security leaders overseeing industrial environments, and anyone exploring a career in critical infrastructure protection.
