The Mech Suit for Frontend Developers is in the Cloud
For the October DevOps meetup, will dig into delivering Serverless web applications to the AWS Cloud! Agenda: * Welcome & DevOpsDays Phoenix Update (5min) * The Mech Suit for Frontend Developers is in the Cloud (45min) Speakers: Victor Avila, Lukas Ruebbelke Lukas Ruebbelke (VenturPlex) For most frontend developers, deploying a web application into the cloud is tantamount to learning how to teleport across the astral plane. When, in fact, there is a low barrier to entry to the cloud and the possibilities are disproportionately high in comparison to the required effort. It is like strapping your web application into a mech suit and all of the sudden it can do all sorts of exciting things that a mere mortal could not. Your application is fast, secure, stable, highly-available, resilient and has a whole robot army behind it to jump in and help. In this presentation, we are going to show how a frontend developer can start using the cloud right away to do bigger and better things. We will start by deploying an Angular application in the cloud using S3 and CloudFront. We will then show how to use Lambda to integrate with 3rd party services. We may even have a few circus tricks at the end to keep everything really entertaining. Refreshments: Snacks & Beverages will be provided!
