Details

Update!:

Sorry folks, I updated the date to a week later (9/21 instead of 9/14) to accomodate a special work circumstance Farhad has. I hope you can still make it. If not, I apologize; check out the video we'll capture of the presentation, and come next month. Thanks very much to the host Ipro for understanding!

Overview:

This will be an intermediate level dive into various ways of styling React components. We will cover:

• React w/ CSS, SCSS & [possibly] CSS NEXT

• React w/ CSS modules

• React w/ Inline Styles

Since there is a good amount of material already with the traditional CSS/SCSS approaches, Farhad will focus more on inline styles and how one could architect a modular UI library with run-time styling capabilities.

A little about Farhad:

"Even though my Phoenix is my hometown, I'm rarely here due to work. I've been wanting to meet other developers in the valley, so I'm looking forward to meeting many of you. I'm passionate about creating art with math and code and have been enjoying creating interactive interfaces for the past several years."

Food and beverage:

Ipro will provide food and beverage! It's probably pizza and soda. I'll update this if I hear differently. Thanks Ipro!

Agenda:

6:30 - 6:50 - Networking and food

6:50 - 7:05 - Announcements

7:05 - 8:00 - Presentation by Farhad Ghayour on modular CSS in React

Generic Pre-requisite:

This is an intermediate React group. If you haven't built a real project in React yourself yet, you could easily find yourself lost during the presentation. If you are new to React, you're welcome to come and make contacts, but consider following online tutorials and attempting to build a site in React to get the most from the presentation.
