Next Meeting: Thursday, Dec. 13th "Learn How to See The Light, Discover new ways to pre-visualize your images." by by Juan Lopez-Johnston A brief bio... "I born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I started photography (to take pictures) at early teen age with an Instamatic camera. My first SLR was a Nikon FG in 1991 because I wanted to learn photography to document my field trips and my preferred models... SNAKES as part of my vocation for education in science and snake bite prevention in Venezuela. In year[masked] I took my first formal photography classes that helped to organize all those years of knowledge randomly acquired by learning by myself. Besides the basics of photography and posing, I learned to develop and print B&W by traditional darkroom method. These photography classes expanded my passion and vision of photography from snakes, their venoms and biology to the endless fields of documentary and commercial photography. My passion expanded into teaching about snakes, venoms and how to not be killed in the field to also teach photography. Today I work sharing both passions, science and photography working science as main job and photography as extra an extra source of income and documenting what happens around me for fun. As preference... I work B&W film with Nikon and other brands mostly for personal documentaries and projects... and CANON EOS for professional (make money...) and also make documentaries."
