The revival
Details
The revival is the 2nd Physio CPD Revolution meet up. Same place same time same beer.
I am very excited about this first speaker at the Revival. Kirstin Glasgow will be kicking things off at 6.15pm presenting a talk on her Masters thesis.
Ask yourself, who were your biggest influences as to how you treat as a physio and why…
We are interested in collaborating with clinicians on assessment and treatment paradigms within professional practice. Do you follow a biomechanical model of assessment and treatment? Do you have opinions on working outside of a biomechanical model?
Kirstin Glasgow is one of our first speakers for the revival. She has recently done her Masters research study looking at:
'How musculoskeletal physiotherapists integrate more than the biomechanical into their private practice?'
She will present her work ‘Negotiating the Boundaries’ looking at how (and why) many physiotherapists have encompassed more than the biomechanical model in their practice. Kirstin’s research will demonstrate their drive, the tensions and fear of judgement encountered along their journey and how they ultimately renegotiated the boundaries to include a more integrated approach to treatment into their scope of practice.
It is hoped that this presentation will open a discussion as to possible ways we as physiotherapists can explore change in our profession. Come along and share a drink with like-minded physiotherapists as we discuss ideas and frustrations and learn from one another’s experiences in an open, friendly, non-judgmental environment.
We hope to see you there fresh and keen to engage from 6pm!
