What we’re about
Everyone is welcome at all our events. This group is inclusive of anyone who shares the beliefs of Humanism or Freethought. Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or any dogma. Humanism believes in the primacy of human, rather than divine or supernatual matters.
We hold meetups in a variety of formats including social chats, movie viewing and reviewing, presentations by invited speakers, Trivia Nights, Saturday brunches, or anything our members might be inclined to do that involves a bit of organization. Want to go on a hike? Announce it and people will join up!
Enjoy a break from the pervasive religiosity of the area with like-minded people—and potential friends— who don't mind that you don't "believe". We are evidence-seekers, not-sures and don't-cares; activists, and deep-thinkers. This eclectic group includes working professionals, retirees and students. Join us and share your story!

For a broader range of events, see the calendar at http://www.piedmonthumanists.org/calendar/ for other group's activities.
Please note that many of our regular members don't RSVP online, so events might be attended by more people than the RSVP number indicates. However, we would still encourage you to RSVP so we can better plan events. We look forward to having you with us at our gatherings!
