We meet in-person once per month in Forest Hills to discuss either a book written by an Irish author or a book about Ireland. You don't have to be Irish as everything we read is in English and the books we choose and discuss are diverse.

A 2023 novel about a neurodivergent boy, Jamie O'Neill, who starts secondary school in rural Ireland and tries to build a perpetual motion machine to connect with his deceased mother. The book explores themes of family, grief, class, and community, as Jamie's project brings together his father, a teacher, and the wider community, challenging societal expectations and exploring the relief of letting go of pressure.
A Week in Winter is Maeve Binchy's final novel, a heartwarming story set at Stone House, a new inn on the Irish coast, where a diverse group of strangers gathers for a winter holiday, sharing secrets and finding connection. The book follows characters like an incognito movie star, two doctors shaken by death, a psychic, and a musician, all brought together by the inn's owner, Chicky Starr, whose own past in America is revealed as the week unfolds. It's known for its classic Binchy style, featuring endearing characters, humor, and themes of love, loss, and community.
