• Zombie Shooting Practice

    The Range

Hello ladies, It’s ZOMBIE Night🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️ To kill a zombie, the shooter must shoot the zombie in the head. So instead of shooting at center mass, you will have to focus in on the zombie's noggin to make an impact during a zombie apocalypse. This means you need to keep your six fundamentals of shooting honed and ready. Zombie night is a great way to do that. This is open to all levels of shooters that feel comfortable enough to shoot with little or no guidance. Bring you favorite zombie targets, large or small, and plan to cleanse North Stafford of its zombies. You can purchase zombie targets online or you can purchase them from me for a $1 each. If you have the time to attend, but you do not want to participate in the scheduled drill/event, you don't have to. Join us and hone your skills in whichever manner you are comfortable with. For the new shooters, below is a link to the rules of The Range - it would be beneficial to read before your first visit: http://www.pistolpackingladies.com/single-post/2015/11/09/Safety-Rules-For-Shooting-at-The-Range See you at The Range, Your PPL Team

  • Competition Night

    The Range

Ladies, are you ready to rummmmble?!? It sounds much better when I say it than when I write it. Hm. * Don't let the word "Competition" scare you away from this event. This event is open to ALL level of shooters. If nothing else, it's really good target practice. You do not have to 'compete', but I do encourage every shooter to participate as a competitor in this event. It is a great opportunity to add a little bit of pressure to your shooting to see how you do. This event is about accuracy, but it is also about experience. This competition is for .380, 9mm, .40 or .45 caliber semi-automatic pistols. You can also compete with a .38 revolver. You are limited to just one gun for this event, so pick the gun you shoot best. If you need to borrow a gun, please let me know. You'll need 50 rounds of ammo, a black or blue marker and your normal accompaniment of safety gear. I will bring the targets (the type is undisclosed at this time). I will also bring a score card (to track your shots upon completion of the shooting). There will be prizes for the top 3 competitors. Prizes to be determined. Here is how it works. 1) Upon arrival, let us know if you are participating as a competitor. Again, I encourage everyone to participate as a competitor. Each shooter will get five targets, one for each round of shooting. Ensure you put your name on each target and number them 1 to 5. 2) We anticipate a large attendance, so we'll group ladies two or three to a lane. 3) The targets will be placed at the 7 yard line (the second yellow line in the firing lane). 4) Each shooter will fire 10 rounds/firing turn. 5) Upon completion of each round, the shooter will pull her target back and WAIT to score her targets until after all 5 rounds have been completed. 6) After all shooters in your lane are done shooting, shooters will score their targets in the lobby area. Each shooter will count the shots and record the score on the shot tracker. When you count your holes, you start from the 10 ring and work your way to the 9 ring, 8 ring and so-on. If the shot hole hit a line, you count the next highest score. For instance, if the hole is on the line between the 8 and the 9, that shot counts as a 9. 7) Once all score cards are complete, we'll determine who the winners are. There can only be one 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, so if we have a tie, we will have additional rounds until the score is settled. The 1st place winner will choose her prize of three choices. The 2nd place winner will chose her prize. The 3rd place shooter will get the remaining prize. Instructors are encouraged to participate, but they are excluded from the prizes. Super excited to see everyone there. • Sarcastic Target Night

    The Range

Hello ladies, Sarcastic Target Night will make you chuckle. Each shooter will receive a set of sarcastic targets. The targets are small, so you will likely place them closer than usual. If you don't hit the center, the area on the target that you hit may read "YOU SUCK". The comments vary by target, but each target definitely has an attitude. We look forward to seeing you at The Range! Teresa P.S. We are now tracking no-shows. • 9MM Night

    The Range

Hello ladies, There are a lot of ladies in our club that often wonder what type of gun is best for them, whether for home defense, personal defense (carry conceal) or just for fun. It's difficult to pick a gun when there isn't often an opportunity to try them first. This Thursday is 9mm night. This event is especially helpful for those lady shooters looking at a 9MM, but aren't sure where to begin. If you are interested in bringing your 9mm to The Range and allowing others to try it, that would be awesome. If you don't want others to shoot your gun(s), that is absolutely fine, too. Either way, it's an opportunity to practice with a 9mm. Rules: 1) All shooters wanting to try other people's guns are required to purchase their own ammo. They can either bring 9MM rounds from an outside source OR they can purchase their rounds from The Range. Brass or aluminum casings only, NO STEAL. 2) Limit firing each gun to an initial 5 rounds. If there is a line for a particular gun, this allows for a quicker transition from one shooter to another. Also, your ammo is likely to go fast, so this allows you to manage your ammo and to come back to the guns you enjoyed most. 3) Take a picture of the gun(s) you enjoyed firing. This gives you a reference for future purchasing. 4) If you would rather not have others use your gun(s), that is absolutely fine. If people ask, politely let them know you'd rather not. If you would rather shoot a different caliber this week, that is fine too. You do not have to participate in 9mm portion of the event. See you at The Range! www.pistolpackingladies.com

  • Couples Night at The Range

    The Range

Hello ladies, It is Couple's Night! This is a great opportunity to bring your significant other and shoot as a couple… or not. Don't feel that you HAVE to bring you significant other either. You can participate as a couple or single. Please remind your significant other that we do like to take pictures. Tammie/host won't let you leave until you smile for the camera. :-) This is open to all levels of shooters who need little to no guidance. See you there! Teresa - Host /Organizer P.S. We are now tracking no-shows. If you are a repeat no-show (you RSVP'd and did not un-RSVP and did not show for three events) you will be denied access to a month of events. • Speed Drills

    The Range

Hello ladies, If you have the time to attend, but you do not wish to participate in the speed drills, you don't have to. Join us and hone your skills in whichever manner you are most comfortable. --------------------------------- Due to the minimum attendance allowed at this time we are limiting it PPL members only. This could change in the future. Thank you. It's time to step it up a notch. We are going to practice speed drills today. How it works: 1) Loaded magazine and empty safe gun on table - pointed down range 2) Shooter has her back turned to the target 3) When ready the shooter turns to her target, loads her magazine into her gun (all of this happens as the gun is pointed DOWN range) and she fires five rounds as accurately as she can at center mass. We'll do this for a few rounds, see how each other is doing, then we'll continue to do more. Your rounds will go fast, so if you are able, consider bringing more ammo than usual. Adding an element of speed, even a small one, really brings us back to the FIVE fundamentals. This event is open to all shooting levels who need little to no guidance. Whether you're ready to try this or not, we encourage you to attend. As always, we want each shooter to shoot to her own ability while encouraging her to continue to hone her skills. If you are a repeat no-show (you RSVP'd and did not un-RSVP and did not show for three events) you will be denied access to a month of events.
