Alec Lownes will present on the history and function of the Analytical Engine, as well as a hypothetical retrospective on writing programs for it in the 19th century. The Analytical Engine was the first computer imagined by Charles Babbage in the late 1800's and famously coded by Ada countess of Lovelace.
