Details
Brian Kardell of Igalia to speak.
"""
The web is about 30 years old. That's amazing. It is an incredible and ever-expanding commons built on standards established by browser makers and the general developer public. These standards enable amazingly complex and diverse functionality across an incredible myriad of devices - from declarative UI models to asynchronous requests and WebAssembly. They enable new features from streaming audio and video to hardware and platform integrations like webcam and mic use.
In this talk, we'll discuss how standardization works, why open standards matter, and how you can even help influence what where things go while along the way. We'll also look at how the has web evolved because of these standards and how many of our ideas and approaches to the standardization process have, too.
