Brazilian Zouk 1 (No partner needed)
Beginner
This beginner course goes over the foundations of Zouk including a comfy frame, musicality, the basic step (in place and traveling), the lateral step, viradinha, etc.

Bellydance 1: Drills with Zills
Beginner to Advanced
This is a great class for beginners who need to get that technique work in. Students will break down the movements from the inside out to best understand the quality of movement as well as build stamina within the technique. An introduction to zills (finger cymbals) will be applied, learning finger rhythm patterns. Expect a brief warm up and cool down. Comfortable pants and hip scarf recommended.

Bellydance 2: Drills, Layers, & Zills
Experienced-beginner to Advanced
This course will discuss and apply specific timings, weight exchanges, and layering dynamics that will challenge and build students’ range of movement to express themselves! Students will break down each layer to the slowest possible speed to check in with posture, energy, and flow then speed up the movements gradually adding, or deleting elements. Zills work is expanded upon as well. Combos, taxim, and hoedown jam (call out with cymbal, jamila-esque style) “may” finish our classes! Expect a challenging warm up and blissful cool down.

Internationally renowned dancer, Maria Hamer, directs an Intermediate/Advanced level fusion Bellydance troupe training in performance, stage presence, finger cymbals, costuming, musicality, staging, and more!

Requirements for Vetiver Dance Team:
Minimum Skill Level: Intermediate (must take at least one class with Maria before joining)
Auditions: Please call the studio to book an audition with Maria
Technique Classes & Rehearsals: Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Tuition: $125/month
(Tuition includes all class rehearsal times. Costumes are an additional requirement.)
