What we're about

We are excited to welcome you to the Pittsburgh Inclusive Innovation Meetup! Through this City of Pittsburgh and Urban Redevelopment Authority initiative, we hope to celebrate, showcase and connect individuals, organizations and businesses working to make Pittsburgh an innovative place for all.

What is inclusive innovation? As we see it, inclusive innovation is providing equal access through the infusion of new ideas, people and technology to meet complex challenges. Inclusive innovation is possible in everything we do; from the arts, to small business, to community development, to coding there is tremendous opportunity when diverse people with diverse skills and perspectives come together.

Join us to meet new people, have productive and sometimes challenging conversations, learn new skills and work together to make Pittsburgh truly a city of inclusive innovation.

See you soon!

Digital Equity and Inclusion: Mayoral Forum between Chattanooga and Pittsburgh

Point Park University Center For Media Innovation

The Inclusive Innovation Summit was born out of Pittsburgh’s Inclusive Innovation Week, a week-long series of events focused on highlighting civic, educational and entrepreneurial innovation with explicit emphasis on improving accessibility and making technology more inclusive to all residents, especially marginalized communities. As a follow up to the Inclusive Innovation Summit, the City of Pittsburgh wants to highlight the inclusive and actionable ways Chattanooga has been leading with Tech Goes Home and the Innovation District through a digital Mayoral Forum Meetup event between Mayor Andy Berke and Mayor William Peduto. Background on Mayor Berke: Since he became Mayor of Chattanooga in 2013, Andy Berke has placed digital equity, opportunity, and access at the center of his city's economic and community development agenda. Through the City of Chattanooga's partnership with The Enterprise Center, a local nonprofit agency, this work has taken huge steps forward -- our Tech Goes Home program engages schools, public libraries, and churches across Hamilton County to offer free courses that help residents develop skills required for smart broadband use, while recent hardware and software upgrades to the city's network of recreation centers has put the world's fastest internet within walking distance of practically every child in Chattanooga. Agenda: 6:00 PM - Doors Open, Light Refreshments Provided 6:20 PM - Program Begins 6:30 PM - Partner Highlights (TBD) 6:40 PM - Moderated Mayoral Conversation on Digital Equity 7:00 PM - Q&A 7:15 PM - Networking 8:00 PM - Doors Closed
