What we're about

This group is for people who struggle to keep up with other walking or hiking groups.

We'll walk at a pace comfortable to all participants, although some walks may allow faster walkers to go ahead and meet back up. No one will be left behind.

We'll also stick to moderate terrain. Maybe some hills, but not tough ones unless noted. Hikes will be suitable for walking shoes, unless the need for boots is noted.

Once the virus is fully controlled, and people are back in their offices, we'll have weekday lunchtime walks in downtown Pittsburgh. Eventually, we'll have a picnic or other get-together.

Everyone is expected to treat everyone else with kindness and respect.

*** Updated Virus Safety: ***

1. Please maintain current CDC, state, and local guidelines.

2. Respect other members' interpretation of what that means for them.

3. Any after hike food and drink also maintaining guidelines.

4. Please to not attend if you're sick, or have been exposed to someone who is.

Buttermilk Falls Walking/Lunch

Buttermilk Falls

Buttermilk Falls is located at 570 Valley Brook Rd, New Florence, PA 15944.

This site features an impressive 45 foot waterfall and scenic woodland. The 48-acre natural area was donated to Indiana County Parks in 1995 by the Keystone-Conemaugh Group, owners of the nearby Conemaugh Generating Station. As a natural area, the site has been set aside to protect both typical and unique plant and animal communities and to protect outstanding examples of natural beauty.

Buttermilk Falls Trail is a 0.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near New Florence, Pennsylvania that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Lunch will be at New Florence Family Restaurant, 182 Ligonier St, New Florence Pa. 15944

🚶🏻‍♀️Walk Sewickley/🥗Lunch at The Hotel

Riverfront Park

Let's start our walk at the Riverfront Park. I like to meet at the Park because there is plenty of parking, and no meters to deal with. We'll walk through the park, then across the Bridge, and up the street to The Hotel. It'll be a less than 2 mile walk on mostly level, paved sidewalks.

At noon, we'll sit down and enjoy lunch (of your choice) on their outside patio. After lunch, we'll take a 1/2 mile walk back to our vehicles.

Hope you'll be able to join me at this Event!😀

🚶🏻‍♂️ Walk/Lunch 🥗 North Park Boathouse

North Park Boathouse

Weather permitting, we'll meet at the Boathouse at North Park at 10:00. We'll walk for about 2 miles starting at the Boathouse, then walking the trail around to the tennis courts and back to the boathouse. We'll do this route 2 times. This will be a paved, level route.

Around 11:00 or so, for those who are interested, we'll sit outside, and have lunch at Over-The-Bar Restaurant.

We will walk at a pace that is comfortable for all.

Hope you will join me!😀
