Tune it Tuesdays at Black Forge Coffee house, open mic!

Details
Join Phat Man Dee and members of her band The Cultural District for the first in a series of monthly jam sesssions called "Tune It Tuesdays"! This community oriented music making jam session will feature a house band including some of Mandee's favorite local musicians like pianist Howard Alexander, guitarist Carlos Peña and Afro Cuban master percusisonist Miguel Sague III! Together they will open the evening and during their set Mandee will encourage attendees to sign up to sit in after the break!
“Tune It!” is open to all ages, genres, and creative spirits to occur monthly at the Black Forge Coffee House on the third Tuesday night for one year. The goal of the sessions is to expose the community to live jazz and the creation of jazz music first hand. We will create space for people to come together and sit in with professional level musicians. A jam session is the place where musicians of varying levels of skill come together, work out new material and develop and grow as artists.
Phat Man Dee has lived in the Allentown neighborhood of Pittsburgh since 2004 and is really excited about sharing with her neighbors the experience of having professional level musicians mentoring and supporting young artists in our community and showcasing our community to musicians from all over Pittsburgh and beyond!
This event is supported by the Neighborhood Allies "Love My Neighbor" grant, Drusky Entertainment and Copies At Carson, Inc.!
Tickets will be $3 at the door and any spoken word artists and musicians coming to sit in get in for free!
