Contact Improvisation Dance Class & Jam!

We are excited to announce that beginning this week (9/12/18), we'll be teaching and jamming contact improvisation at Wilkins School and Community Center EVERY Wednesday from 7 to 9pm! We decided to switch to a weekly schedule in order to make our dancing more consistent and invite consistent and weekly participation in the community :)

All are invited to experience the art of contact improvisation, which combines the freedom and exploration of modern dance with the social and physical energy of social dance. Never heard of it? That's ok, all levels of experience and body types are welcome to practice, explore, and enjoy!!

Each week we'll start by warming up and tuning in and then move into experimenting with contact fundamentals, such as: rolling, pouring weight, tuning in to your dance partner, and everyone's favorite - falling! After the exercises, we'll put our new skills into practice as we flow into a more open and less structured dance time, which we call the "Jam".
