Us Vs Them - How to Build a Bridge with Someone on the Other Side of an Issue
It's becoming an every day occurrence - our thoughts, beliefs and judgments have us at odds with a family member, co-worker or friend. Holidays often amplify this situation, as we are thrown together with people we may not see very often, who approach life in a very different way. As business owners, we don't always have the luxury of ignoring someone we don't agree with. In these situations, some of us attempt to avoid confrontation by staying quiet and hiding our beliefs. Others are very vocal in an attempt to convince someone to see things our way. At the extreme end, we have Facebook bullying and nastiness. In this mastermind meeting, Kim Cooper will give us tools and techniques to calm our own stress when faced with an opposing point of view, opportunities to recognize when our own defensiveness is adding to the problem, and suggestions to shift our perspective and find the shared humanity with our adversaries. When we build bridges of cooperation and respect, rather than more walls of limitations to divide us, everyone wins. And Thanksgiving dinner becomes a lot more enjoyable. Kim Cooper is a former airline pilot who has plenty of experience facing her own fears and stressful situations. Realizing that fear can cause debilitating damage both mentally and physically, Kim now uses her experience to help others calm down, stop freaking out, and build bridges of mutual respect. Her passion is energetic generational healing, where she guides others to heal their family history, releasing the cycle of events and emotional baggage passed from one generation to the next. Her greatest hope is to stop history from repeating itself, and create a better world for generations to come. www.BeingKimCooper.com *Pittsburgh Women's Mastermind is for women entrepreneurs who want to experience personal and professional growth in a supportive and inspiring group. Pittsburgh Women's Mastermind was founded in January 2016 by Joy Bufalini, who is a Life and Mindset Coach for Women Entrepreneurs. The group began with one meeting in Robinson Township and then grew to two meeting options per month. In November 2016, we expanded to Cranberry Township and within a few months also grew to needing two meeting options per month in that location as well. Now we have newly expanded to the South Hills as of April 2017, and are excited to bring together more like-minded, forward-thinking women entrepreneurs.
