The 5th Annual McCurdy Social Tennis Tournament will be held on Saturday June 21, 2014. We ask that all participants show up at the Algonquin Tennis court by 7:45am to sign in and pay the donation fee if you have not already done so.

General Information:

The draw sheets will be available the morning of the tournament.

There are 9 courts at Algonquin so the majority of matches will start promptly at 8am. Other first round matches will start as matches complete and courts becomes available.

All matches will be 2 out of 3 sets. If the match is tied at one set each a 3rd set tiebreaker will be used. (First team to get 10 points leading by 2 points will be the winner of the match.) This format is used at the Pro level and will also help keep the tournament matches timely.

Games will be played with ad scoring.

10 minutes allowed for warm-ups.

A new can of balls will be provided for each match.

Winning team is responsible for returning the used balls and reporting the match score to at the officials table.

1st round non-winning team will play another match with another 1st round non-winning team ensuring that every team plays at least two matches. This is not the same as double elimination.

Gifts/Prizes will be awarded to the Championship Team and Finalists.

As a reminder bring plenty of drinks and snacks as the weather may be very hot and you may be in for many hours of tennis.
