Plein Air Austin coordinates monthly paint outs in Austin and around central Texas. We enjoy painting the scenery of many local parks and natural areas for which the Texas Hill Country is so well-known. If you are interested in painting outdoors come out and join us for our next paint out!

Eastwoods Neighborhood Park
Eastwoods Neighborhood Park, 3001 Harris Park Avenue, Austin, TX, USCome paint Eastwoods Neighborhood Park with us! The park is home to the 2024 Unique Tree award winner the "T’ai Chi Chih tree." The old pecan tree stretches low to the ground and has a history tied to Austin traditions. The park also has a small footbridge crossing Waller Creek.
Be sure to pack the art medium and supplies you would like to work in during the paint out as no supplies are provided. We will be painting outside "en plein air;" please dress appropriately. A small bathroom is on site. The city street parking is free on Sundays, but be sure to check you are parked away from permit only areas.

Speedway Moonlight Tower
Moonlight Tower Speedway, 4014 Speedway, Austin, TX, USCome paint the Speedway Moonlight Tower with us! The Austin Moonlight Towers are the only known remaining towers in the world. Fourteen of the towers still exist and six remain in their original location. In 1970, the towers were recognized as Texas State Landmarks, and listed on the National Register of Historic places.
The Speedway tower is located at the intersection of 41st Street and Speedway in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Painters will be along the sidewalk and the street as the tower is on the corner of private property.
Be sure to pack the art medium and supplies you would like to work in during the paint out as no supplies are provided. We will be painting outside "en plein air;" please dress appropriately and bring water. The nearest bathrooms will be located at gas stations along Guadalupe Street.
*Note: free parking is available along the neighborhood streets, but please be sure to check signage as some areas are permit only parking.
