Welcome to the launch of the Polkadot - Melbourne community!
We're excited to announce that Aeron Buchanan, Vice President of the Web3 Foundation will be flying down from Berlin to introduce Polkadot at the inaugural Australian Polkadot meetup in Melbourne.
"Every blockchain is trying to be a smart contract platform, a currency, have its own consensus, etc. This defeats the purpose of blockchains. We don't want people to be locked into a specific platform. We want them to be able to talk to each other" - Rob Habermeier

6.00pm: Arrive - settle in.
6.20pm: Speaker - Aeron Buchanan, Web3 Foundation: Introduction to Polkadot
6.40pm: Speaker- Antoine Najjarin, Speckle OS: Simplifying the User Experience for Web3
7pm - 8pm: Drinks, salads & enjoying the company of a like minded community.

Speaker Profiles:
Aeron Buchanan, Vice President @ Web3 Foundation
Aeron is based in Berlin, Germany, previously the head of operations for Ethereum and co-founder of Parity Technologies. Aeron is on the team launching the Polkadot protocol and coordinating the integration of other protocols within the Web3 tech stack.
Antoine Najjarin, Founder @ Speckle OS
Antoine aims to simplify and improve the end user experience of using a decentralised web. Speckle OS is one of the first projects being developed on Polkadot. Antoine has worked with the Ethereum network previously, including working with the United Nations in tracking the distribution of humanitarian aid.
