Handmade Collage Fortune Cookie Books

Fortune Cookie Books

  Join us this month as Carol Mikkelson teaches an easy technique for covering book boards by making a “Fortune Cookie Book”.  We’ll be using Oriental inspired papers to cover an accordion-style book, collaging the inside pages using clip-art, stencils, and rubber stamps, and putting it all together into a fun, and easy project.

Supply list-

  * Bring a bone folder if you have one.  If not, bring a spoon.

   * Fiskars-type paper cutter.  Bring a scoring blade, for Fiskars paper cutter if you  have one.  If you don’t have this type of paper cutter you will also need an Xacto  knife and a cutting mat to cut cardstock.  Also bring any Asian themed papers or ephemera for added charm

  * Small ruler

Remember, we all like to share, so do not be intimidated if you do not have everything on the supply list!

Members in good standing free.  Drop-ins $5.00.  We welcome new members and can't wait to meet you!

    Carol, thanks for showing us how to make these beautiful books! I have a feeling I'll be making quite a few.

    I also just want to thank everyone for a lovely morning. Co-creating with all of you for nearly a year now has been wonderful and life-enriching.

    Thanks for your note Cathy I may have to work which is why I changed my rsvp. I probably have enough for a book. If my work situation changes regarding the time I may still be there. I am working on rescheduling my work for a different time later in the day but not sure yet. Thank you.
