What we’re about
Glad you found us! Portland Art Guild is a supportive, inclusive group of art enthusiasts of all art skill levels. We're about creating community, improving our art skills, and providing low cost art classes to the public so learning about art is accessible to all. We host social/art events and aim to provide display opportunities.
We rent a wonderful, large space for Mondays, so that's usually when we hold in-person classes, although occasionally this may vary. Our online classes are generally on Thursday evenings, although this may vary. We always have many more people in our classes than it shows on Meetup, by the way.
We're a nonprofit run by volunteers, and you can join us and be part of our volunteer team. Information about joining the Guild is on our website. You can still take our classes without becoming a PAG member. Official sign-up for our classes is on our website: **https://portlandartguild.org/**
Benefits of Guild Membership include:
-Substantial discount on our art classes.

The instructors are offering their instruction free of charge. They will supply the art supplies and the frames, so there will be a $25 materials fee, payable on our website.
Ready to make your artwork literally jump off the page? Sallie and Linda are excited to share this fun and creative project with you in this hands-on workshop where you'll transform a painting into a framed, 3D piece of art! And we’ll provide all the materials, including the frame, all for a $25 materials fee! We'll be working in gouache, a paint similar to watercolor, but known for its opacity. Don't worry about drawing – we'll have beautiful designs of the natural world (shells, starfish, dragonflies, etc.) ready for you, so you can dive right into the fun of painting. The instructors will demo the basics of using gouache. You will learn how to sculpt your piece, assemble it in a deep frame for a 3-dimensional effect, then you’ll be shown how to add the framing components to wire to your frame. By the end of class, you will have a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece ready to hang!Supply list is on our website, by clicking on the class. Class size limited to 15, so be sure to officially sign up on Portland Art Guild website: Sign up here
