What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in functional programming (FP). Whether you're a veteran programmer or just starting out, join us! Whether you're an expert in FP or you don't even know what FP is, all are welcome! Come and tell us about your project or learn about someone else's. This group strives to build an FP community in the Portland, Maine area to share knowledge and experience and to spread the functional word.

Upcoming events (4+)

[Online Event] FP Reading Group: Haskell Programming from First Principles

Link visible for attendees

Every two weeks we'll go over a chapter or two of some book related to functional programming.

This week we'll be going over chapter 17: "Applicative" of "Haskell Programming from First Principles" (HPFFP) (https://haskellbook.com/).

Although material in HPFFP does build on the material that came before, don't let that keep you from attending if you haven't attended any of the previous meetings for HPFFP. We'll be happy to answer any questions you have. These meetings are typically laid-back with a conversational format and we often talk about non-book related FP topics so you'll be sure to get something out of it.

[Online Event] Project Workgroup

Link visible for attendees

Every two weeks we'll work together on some programming project. Some members have been working on the "Task Scheduler" project (https://github.com/Portland-Functional-Programming/TaskScheduler), a Purescript application for managing todos.
