Friends, we’ve got a great reason to get together: SHEETMETAL. Yes, one of the most anticipated enhancements of the summer is finally here and it’s time to dig into its capabilities.
Bring your laptop. Bring your creativity. Come join us Wednesday, August 23th at the swanky (and air conditioned) CENTRL EASTSIDE for an evening of Fusion sheetmetal. We’ll have on hand Fusion Sheetmetal Product Manager Mike Prom to share insights, tips and ideas. The pizza and beer will be at its absolute most nourishing.
This isn’t just a powerpoint though. Come ready to model (mini hackathon style) because we’re all going to submit entries to:
“The Autodesk Fusion 360 Sheet Metal Challenge” (https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/fusion-360-sheet-metal-challenge/)
To celebrate the release of sheet metal in Fusion 360, we’re putting on a brand new sheet metal-themed challenge.
We need YOU to help design a new sheet metal bumper. We teamed up with 3D scanning company FARO to scan the front end of the truck and turned it into a template for you to use. (The dataset will be provided within Fusion when the new August update goes live). So, let your creative juices flow and start creating your own bumper design:
[What’ll they get Vanna?]
National Prizes include:
1st place – Flight to San Francisco, CA to experience the manufacturing of your design +2017 Autodesk University pass. We will cut, bend, weld and put the new bumper on the truck together (For San Francisco manufacturing experience flight and hotel are included. AU pass covers admission only.)
2nd place – 2017 AU pass (admission only)
3rd place – Fusion 360 Swag package
Additionally we’ll have local awards for the best entries created over the night. We fully expect Portland to make a competitive showing so come ready to rock! If you're new to sheetmetal, that's fine too. Lots of happy to help mentors will be around to offer tips and ideas.
