What we're about

Did you ever go to a film and want to analyze it endlessly with your friends only to be left in the cold? Well you've found the right group! We're a bunch of unpretentious film lovers that love movies from wacky B-movie disasters to blockbusters to the newest indie film on the block. So, join us for a movie and fun discussion afterwards at one of many Portland's fine bars and eateries.

Group Rules- I have a few simple rules to follow. Since I have limited membership to this group and have people wanting to join, not following the rules will get you the boot! Obviously this won't happen immediately. I will talk to you about it first but rules are rules.

1) Any behavior that is considered harassment or abusive in nature to another member will result in a permanent ban. I won't tolerate it.

2) Not participating- if you sign up and never show up this might not be the right group for you. I have to pay to keep this group on Meetup and will do so for members who participate. I'd rather have a group of 10 people who show up on a regular basis than a 100 who never do.

3) Bailing- if you sign up and constantly bail at the last minute you might get the boot! I know sh&^t happens so I will talk to you about it first. But my time is valuable and I don't want to waste going to Meetups when no one shows up (which has happened to me).

Group Format- in general:

1) Each Meetup will consist of 10-15 people attending the film and going out afterwards to discuss it.

2)We usually plan for about 4 hours total for the Meetup but we have gone longer!

3)No one is obligated to stay the whole time (you should stay for the whole movie though).

Bill & Ted Face the Music - September 5th - Location and Time TBD

UPDATE 7/24/20: The studio has pushed-back the release date of Bill and Ted to Tuesday, September 1st, and at that time it will be released to "any willing theater" and pay-per-view. If it's showing anywhere, we'll do the Meetup on the following Saturday, September 5th. Maybe the drive-in?; Let's keep our fingers crossed! UPDATE 7/13/20: I've changed the tentative weekend of the Bill and Ted meetup, as the studio has pushed the release date back by one week. We'll still try to do this in a theater if COVID-19 restrictions allow. Feel free to contact me with questions. (Greg) Date and time for Bill & Ted Face the Music are preliminary. Actual date and time will be updated closer to the release date. "Now enduring the monotony of middle-aged life, William 'Bill' S. Preston, Esq. and Theodore 'Ted' Logan are warned by a visitor from the future of the need for them to create a song in 78 minutes that will save all life on Earth and the entire universe. The pair work with their families, old friends, famous musicians, and each other to complete the task." Ladies and gentlemen, It has been YEARS since I (Greg) have been this stoked to see a movie. In my humble opinion, the first two Bill & Ted installments ("Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey") are two of the most joyful and fun movies I've ever seen. The sequel has the potential to be the same: Not only are Keanu Reaves and Alex Winter reprising their roles as Bill & Ted, Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the original writers of the first two movies, have returned to write the new installment. There's a lot of potential here kids; a lot to get excited about. These are dark days indeed: There are strange things afoot, and not just at the Circle K. But Bill & Ted? Those guys are DEFINITELY something to look forward to! STATION!!!!
