REID HAVENS (Havens Consulting) - Bedazzling Your Power BI Bookmarks & Buttons

Bookmarks and Buttons are two of the best ways to add web-like user experiences into Power BI reports. Bookmarks can help create a more seamless filter and navigation experience. Buttons can both be used with bookmarks, but can also be leveraged for a lot of other report functionality and navigation.

Reid is the Founder of Havens Consulting Inc. and Microsoft MVP. He has a formal background in technology and organizational management, having obtained separate Master's Degrees in Organizational Development & Business Analytics. Reid has experience working with many of the Fortune 50, 100, & 500 companies. Additionally he guest lectures at the University of Washington and other universities, teaching Business Intelligence, Reporting, & Data Visualization.

MIMOUNE DJOUALLAH - Building a Low Cost, Near Real-Time Pipeline Using BigQuery / Power BI

For a project we needed to extract data that changed every 5 minutes. At that time Power BI Premium Per User licensing was not available, thus we end up using BigQuery as a low cost solution (less than 1$/Month). This demonstration will walk through the approach used to build the ETL process (Storage, Python Functions, Dataform, and BigQuery ). I will show different scenarios on how to visualize the results in Power BI via Import mode, Direct Query or both using composite models, and a preview of the new BI Engine.

Mimoune (mim) is a Construction Planner. He has a BSc in Civil Engineering and has been working with the Power BI stack since 2016. He is an active blogger about Oracle Primavera, Power BI, GIS, and BigQuery.
