
What we’re about
Portland Trail Runners is the original trail running group in Portland, Oregon, bringing runners together for over 15 years. We meet every Saturday morning to explore the city’s best trails — like Forest Park, Tryon Creek, and more. Occasionally, we will have weekday runs sprinkled in the mix.
Our runs are typically 5–7 miles, with shorter options available, and all paces are welcome. Whether you're experienced or just getting started, you'll find friendly people, great routes, and a relaxed vibe. We hang out after for coffee and conversation — bring a mug and join us! (Families, kiddos, and doggos included).
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re here to cruise, push the pace, or just enjoy the dirt.

Night Trails: Archery Range to Pittock!
Washington Park Archery Range, SW Kingston Dr, Portland, OR, USJoin us for an evening out-and-back run on the Wildwood Trail from the Archery Range to Pittock Mansion. We’ll wind through Hoyt Arboretum, cross the pedestrian bridge over Burnside, and climb to Pittock for sweeping views of Portland, and head back to start for a total of 5.2 miles - all on Wildwood.

Want a shorter option? Turn back at the pedestrian bridge for just shy of 4 miles, or at the Redwood Observation deck for 3.something miles - the choice is yours!

Meet at the Washington Park Archery Range off SW Kingston Dr.
PSA to practice good car hygiene and mind your valuables.

Marquam Trail! +Coffee
Marquam Trail, Portland, OR, USJoin us for an out-and-back run along the Marquam Trail on Saturday! We'll start from the SW Terwilliger Blvd trailhead and head up to Council Crest where we'll stop and enjoy the top for a moment before heading back down. This route is about 6.3 miles total.

Want a shorter option? Turn back around where Marquam Trail intersects with Shadyside Trail for a total of 4 miles.
Where to meet
Marquam Trail at the SW Terwilliger Blvd trailhead. We start running at 8:35! Parking may be limited, carpool if you can (post here for ride share)
Roadside parking is available near the trailhead, as well as further along Terwilliger, about 1/4 mile north (near Hamilton) and south (Buhler Cutoff).
What to bring
- Coffee cup/travel mug
- Grippy trail running shoes
- Warm layer for group kudos/coffee after
After the run
As always, Jeff will bring post-run coffee. If you have a snack you want to share, great! Or if you'd like, you can Venmo a couple bucks to the coffee fund (@JeffMonaghanPDX), but there's absolutely no expectation for you to bring anything other than yourself, nor is there any expectation for contributions - just come run with us!5 attendees
