Portland Trail Runners is a beginner friendly running group that meets every Saturday morning and every Tuesday evening in and around the Portland area. We love exploring all that Portland has to offer, including the trails of Forest Park, Tryon Creek, the waterfront area, Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, and whatever new trails we can find!
We're also huge fans of our city's world-class coffee and brewery scene, so if you've got suggestions for a post-run hangout spot, join us and share!
"Veronica and I are trying this new fad called, uh, jogging. I believe it's jogging or yogging. It might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild."
I miss those S'more Stouts, so let's head over to the Base Camp Brewing, since we haven't been there in a while! From there, we'll head over Burnside bridge, down and over Tilikum bridge, and back the way we came.
The 4.9 mile route, along with turn-by-turn directions, is posted at:
If you want more details about the route during the run, check out the RunGo app:
Search for the 'Base Camp To Tilikum' route, and get turn-by-turn directions for the entire thing, played through your headphones, or shown on-screen. If you have an Apple Watch, grab the RunGo app for that and you can leave the phone in the car!
See you there!
A nice 5.7 mile morning loop along a particularly beautiful section of Forest Park that ends with fresh-baked pastries and steaming hot coffee.
The route map and turn-by-turn directions can be found at:
If you have your phone with you, you can download the RunGo app for free in the App Store or on Google Play (near bottom of page):
If you have an Apple watch, you can load the map and directions onto it with the watch app.
Search for 'Germantown!' under routes.
You can park in the horseshoe-shaped parking lot immediately off of Germantown Rd, or along the road itself. We'll head over to Cathedral Coffee afterward (just over St. John's Bridge). See you there!
