Portland Trail Runners is a beginner friendly running group that meets every Saturday morning and every Tuesday evening in and around the Portland area. We love exploring all that Portland has to offer, including the trails of Forest Park, Tryon Creek, the waterfront area, Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, and whatever new trails we can find!
We're also huge fans of our city's world-class coffee and brewery scene, so if you've got suggestions for a post-run hangout spot, join us and share!
"Veronica and I are trying this new fad called, uh, jogging. I believe it's jogging or yogging. It might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild."
A few of us have been running together for the past several weeks, in small groups, and I'd like to try to open it up to anyone else that would like to join, with the caveat that I want to keep the total group size small right now (~ 8 people), until things get better. I put a cap on the meet up size for the time being, so please respect the RSVP limit so that we can continue to do this.
In order to maximize the safety of everyone in the group, please bring a mask or buff, and respect social distancing at all times. I'll try to pick areas of the park that are less dense for now, to help minimize this as much as possible.
So with that out of the way, let's meet at the intersection of NW Skyline Rd and NW Chapin. You can park in the neighborhood there, just please be respectful of not blocking mailboxes and fire hydrants. From here we'll head over to the super-secret Firelane 2 entrance, down to the Wildwood, and loop around via Chestnut and Nature trails. The loop is ~ 5.1 miles total. See you there!
