Top Spur to Cathedral Ridge Trail Run - Mount Hood Wilderness

I am so happy to be hosting this soul-stirring trail run in Mount Hood Wilderness. This PNW classic is breathtaking, both figuratively and literally. Outlandish wildflowers, wind-sculpted forests, sparkling glaciers, and seemingly infinite viewscapes will leave an immutable imprint upon your spirit.

I have wanted for a while to share a sampling of what adventure running is like with this group, and this run will treat you to both the ardor and grandeur of running in the mountains.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to note that this will be a very challenging run, with steep terrain, technical trail sections, and altitude. While we will be going slowly and stopping to enjoy the views, please consider your fitness and resolve before signing up for this run. This is not a run suited to beginners.

Please bring a jacket, gloves, hat, and lunch. We will stop, eat, and take in one of the best views in all of Oregon up on Cathedral Ridge before heading back.

We will meet at the Top Spur Trailhead at 7:30am. This means we will be leaving Portland at 6:00am. Please also consider the early departure before signing up. As parking is often tight up there, I will be encouraging attendees to carpool. Once we find out who is going, I will post ideas to facilitate ridesharing.

Lastly, but absolutely most importantly, all attendees will be required to observe all rules and permit requirements for Mount Hood Wilderness, as well as trail courtesy, leave-no-trace practices, and wilderness ethics. It is a privilege to explore our last remaining wildernesses. Let’s please take care of and respect them.
