See all- Feedback Workshop - OnlineLink visible for attendees
Learn how to get effective feedback on your writing projects!
This workshop provides an overview of Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process, a method for giving and getting feedback on work in progress. This process is designed to leave you eager and motivated to get back to work.
When defensiveness starts, learning stops. The Critical Response Process emphasizes the benefits of getting artists to think about their work in a fresh way, as opposed to telling them how to improve their work or asking them to defend it.
This approach keeps the sensitivities and feelings of those being critiqued in mind, while also providing a framework to solicit useful, actionable insights. May be used for creative projects across all disciplines such as; writings, visual arts, theatre, dance, music, design and more.
This event is free, open to all and shared across three different PNW meetup groups. Led by Kelsye Nelson of Gutsy Creatives.
Want more? RSVP for the second workshop in this series: Better Feedback with Neutral Questions.

Online Workshop: How to form neutral questions to get better feedback on your writing projects.
Have you received unhelpful or disappointing feedback for your writing projects? Learn how to get more thoughtful, actionable insights by asking questions free of leading information or hidden opinions.
This is the second part of a workshop series based on Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process. When defensiveness starts, learning stops. This approach emphasizes the benefits of getting artists to think about their work in a fresh way, as opposed to telling them how to improve their work or asking them to defend it.
You do not need to attend the first workshop in order to fully participate in this event.
In this workshop, you will practice transforming opinionated inquiries into truly neutral questions. This invaluable skill is a must for writers who participate in writing or critique groups.
For example, imagine a reader asking an author, "Why do you think you needed to tell the moral at the end of the story?" This question implies that the reader thinks the moral was obvious and the author pointed it out unnecessarily.
Imagine if the reader instead asked, "Where do you want the reader to be at the end of the story?" This invites the author to consider the reader's experience and to come to their own conclusion about how stating the moral meets their intended impact.
