Portland Basketball is the world's largest adult basketball league. This league has been around for 23 years. Leagues service teams but within the league we have some teams comprised of individuals (people without ability to organize full teams- but you still want to play basketball). This Meetup group has been formed in fact- for people who do not have a team but still want to play fun, competitive, recreational basketball! Restated: Portland Basketball is expanding our INDIVIDUALS program to reach out via Meetup so that more individual players can see our products and enjoy some basketball with our organization. Join as an individual or with a few friends, pick a game that works for you and show up ready to play. Jersey's provided and the referees will make sure that subbing is equal. We will see on the court soon.

Who: any adult player male or female- who wants to get a great cardio What: 2-on-2 full court (60 foot legnth court) with 1 sub per team When: weeknights 7pm (done at 7:50pm) and Saturdays & Sundays (12noon done at 12:50pm) Where: Columbia Christian School - 9101 East Burnside Why: this game will be Covid safe (see rules in post script) - this game will be fun & great workout! Text Mikal with questions[masked] Unique rules of this Covid-safe game: 1) 48 minute game 2) we will use scoreboards 3) Defense - cannot guard the opponent- but required to run back to the lane for these reasons: a) you have to get the rebound any way... b) running to the lane- as a requirement forces you into that cardio workout. 4) Offense- has just one rule- cannot enter the offensive lane 5) Six foot distance from each other... by virtue of the defense getting back- and spreading out... and bc its only 2 players per side on the floor. 6) This is 2vs2 but each team will be 3 members (so you will have a sub), if you signup with a friend, yes you will be on the same team. 7) If you are wondering if this is real basketball, the answer is- from a shot standpoint and from a cardio standpoint, you will feel as if you just played a full court basketball game (picture final score 110 to 100 and you going home wiped out) COVID POLICIES: this activity requires masks. We will also have the standard protocols in place as well such as these ten items: 1) fresh air from doors open to the outdoors... 2) time/space between one group and the next activity... 3) limit of # of people per area to ten... 4) temperature check... 5) no high fives... 6) one entrance in and different entrance out... 7) bring your basketball if you can... 8) bring water bottles (no use of water fountain)... 9) no spectators and 10) there will be sanitization of equipment and common areas- between events.
