What we're about
Motherless Daughters PDX is a group is for women of all ages and all walks of life who have lost their mothers and are interested in receiving support in a safe and positive environment.
This group meets once per month from 7:00-8:30 at Tabor Space in SE Portland. There is a suggested donation of $5 to cover the cost of renting the room, printed materials and supplies.
This group takes place in a causal and cozy environment. We begin sitting in a circle (chairs and pillows are available) and take turns going sharing what is in our hearts and minds. Each women has an opportunity to say as little or as much as she needs to. No one is required to talk. After we have gone around the circle and shared we spend time having an open discussion about ideas, topics, experiences that have come up. The last half hour focuses on the topic of the week, such as self-care, Holiday Support, the 5 stages of grief, etc.
You are welcome to bring snacks and/or any resources (such as books, movies, articles, classes etc.) that have been helpful for you and you think could benefit others.
