Re: [PortlandOrganizers] Venue for 100 people

Doesn't the meetup website now have a chance to use the listing of all the people in the area? I think it is something you can look up.

For the size you are talking about, there are several venues available. We just did a search in order to find a venue for the 50 plus meetup of the NYC Headquarters People a short time ago.

This site talks about several places in the area that are larger.

You will want to stay away from the inner city area since the venues with parking decrease as we get closer to the city center. There are however, many places in the surrounding neighborhoods. Most when they are that size are looking for a cash/credit payment to hold an event.

The various museums in the area have conference rooms and gallery halls they will let you use for an event. They are a different size. The Clark County PUD Offices in Vancouver, WA have a FREE meeting hall that permits 120 and will be able to meet your parking needs. It is right off of the highway I-5 and easily accessible for handicapped if that is an issue.

Many of the schools/colleges/ universities will also provide a meeting space and have the parking you are looking for. Portland State University being downtown is better if most people are using a commuter or rail system. University of Portland has several good rooms and venues that are available for a price. You would need to also call ahead and do some booking. A lot of the time you have to call on the first of the month to be sure the space is open. They don't always do a calendar far out from the event.

Good luck. I hope these ideas will give you a place to start. Micheil
