Portland's (Autism) Meeting Place brings adults with Aspergers/high-functioning autism and their friends together to have fun and grow professional networks. Some of us proudly claim our Autism/Asperger status, while others of us prefer to just be ourselves. Regardless of how we identify, we all want to become more independent, further our careers, and make friends with like-minded peers and understanding community members.
We are an accepting group that hosts MeetUps throughout the week with a special MeetUp every 3rd Friday of the month. We make an effort to host our MeetUps in environments with soft lighting and ambient sound. A few MeetUps are social and fun while other MeetUps focuses on personal and professional growth. Event categories include: career goal support, building social & professional networks, volunteering, executive functioning & planning workshops, dating/relationship skills building workshops, financial planning workshops, fun game nights, and more. Workshop MeetUps feature expert guest speakers.
