Historic Downtown Beaverton

Details
Yes, indeed, there is a historic downtown Beaverton! As the inter-urban rail network expanded into hills and fields west of the city of Portland in the early 20th century, many small rural enclaves became bustling suburbs that grew up around the rail stops. The automobile era has tended to erase much of the evidence of these streetcar era suburbs.
Beaverton still retains a core intersection of the early 20th century historic streetscape. We'll view some of the defining buildings from this era and recent changes that have taken place. We may, also, have a look at what remains of the mid-century Peaks shopping mall.
This is an easy walk covering less than 1 mile.
Cost for this narrated tour is $15. You may pay by check, cash or credit card at the start of the tour. Or you may pay in advance through PayPal by following this link: http://bit.ly/22q0waD
