Seeing Inside DAX, Power BI's Advanced Calculation Language

Your organization has adopted Power BI, but no one has told you about this thing called DAX and why it is important. DAX is the language that unlocks advanced business calculations in Power BI; but it's notoriously difficult to learn. One reason it's so hard is that you can't actually see what it's doing. But what if you could? Imagine how much easier it would be if you could see the pieces moving around.
In this presentation Brian Grant will be your guide as we develop an understanding what DAX is and the power it can bring to your enterprise reporting. We'll then look inside basic DAX code to see what's happening under the hood. In doing so you will find that at its heart DAX is a shockingly simple machine that is completely learnable, even by mere mortals.
