We are happy to welcome back Steven Murawski (https://twitter.com/stevenmurawski) (Microsoft, formerly Chef and Stack Exchange) following his excellent sessions at our PSDay event.
Additionally, the "Father of PowerShell" Jeffrey Snover (https://twitter.com/jsnover) (Microsoft) is in town and will join us to wrap up the evening.

19:00 - 19:45 - Configuration management is scary - Steven Murawski (https://twitter.com/stevenmurawski)
The idea of a program running the in the background changing the state of my systems scares me deeply (I like to be in control of what happens on my servers). However, configuration management (DSC, Chef, etc..) offers tremendous benefits in stability, scalability, and velocity, so it would be negligent to avoid them. In order to achieve a high level of confidence in the tools and resources used to configure the state of my systems, I use Test-Kitchen which allows me to apply configurations to virtual machines and validate those configurations using Pester tests. This helps me be sure that what I think I'm configuring for production is actually what will happen on my systems.
19:45 - 20:15 - Food, drinks and networking
