In this session, you’ll learn about the developer trends and tools shaping the UK startup economy. Stripe and AWS will present a technical overview of how you can build and iterate applications quickly with best-in-class developer infrastructure and tools. Whether you’re building business apps or trying to reach new customers, this discussion will help you think about how to keep up with—and stay ahead of—evolving technologies. You’ll also hear from Starling Bank and Deliveroo, who’ll share learnings on how they’ve successfully scaled their business as challenger brands.

Ric Harvey, AWS Technical Evangelist UKI
Ric is the AWS Technical Evangelist for the UK&I region. Before joining AWS, Ric ran an open source, cloud-based consultancy and managed services business, helping companies migrate their applications and infrastructure using best of breed cloud technologies. Prior to this, he held engineering and devops roles at Channel 4 and Ticketmaster, specialising in media (VOD delivery), e-commerce solutions and high demand/high availability environments. Ric has a B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics and Intelligent Machines from the University of Essex.

Michael Glukhovsky - Developer Advocate, Stripe
Michael is a developer advocate for Stripe, who’s passionate about user experience and building developer tools. Before joining Stripe he founded RethinkDB, an open-source real-time distributed database. He attended Stony Brook University, specializing in human-computer interaction, and loves his vinyl record collection.
