Build your own Docker

Good news Everyone!

this time we have something very special for you! Were you ever curious how does Docker work inside-out? Yes? You've probably seen the talk mentioning namespaces, cgroups, seccomp and other tools. But did you ever try to play with it?

And..... did you ever try to build your own Docker engine? If so, we have a deep dive challenge for you. This time we will implement a small container engine in python. We will guide you through all the important technology and you'll get deep understanding of whats happening inside Linux kernel and Docker when container is created.

You'll end up with a framework you can use to run your custom container or even a very nice tool and skills, you can use to debug other containers like Docker or LXC.

As this will be hands on session, please don't forget to bring a laptop/VM with your favorite Linux distribution.

Please note, that we are in a new MSD building, so do not forget to come to proper one (its on the other side of the street).
