Get hands dirty: Ansible Service Broker

Details

Have you ever heard about Service Catalog[1] concept in Kubernetes? No? That's a pity as this is a great concept which enables cloud administrator to provision services/data-sources without deep knowledge of how and where they're provisioned.

Don't be scared, you can still have a full control of your provisioning as Service Catalog is asking Service Broker to provision requested services and we are here to help with setting up Ansible Service Broker[2]. The combination of Service Catalog and Service broker enables you to connect your current Ansible defined infrastructure with kubernetes API.

What you will learn:

  • what Service Catalog is and how to use it
  • bootstrapping Service Catalog and Service Broker inside Kubernetes Cluster
  • provisioning services via Service Catalog
  • binding two services together (delivering DB connection data to your APP)
  • creating custom service for Ansible Service Broker

What to bring with you:

  • a laptop with working Kubernetes cluster (minishift/minikube)
  • Kubernetes client (kubectl)
