Join artificial intelligence enthusiasts and accept our invitation to General AI Challenge Kick-off in Prague! Machine Learning Meetups and General AI Challenge jointly organizes the event for all of you who are interested in the development of general artificial intelligence and (maybe) get involved. Attend the kick-off and listen to talks by Pavel Kordik (Researcher, CTU), Jan Romportl (Chief Data Scientist in O2) and GoodAI researchers. Wanna get more details about the challenge itself? What to expect at the kick-off?

As an attendee, you’ll have a chance to learn more about the Challenge and the warm-up round and get your questions answered directly by the organizers. Don't miss the opportunity to meet Pavel and Jan and network with other attendees and GoodAI, and assemble your AI-development dream team.

• Pavel Kordik (Researcher and vice-dean for development at Czech Technical University in Prague & Co-founder at Recombee)

Learning to Reinforce Learn

Talk: The aim of the talk is to convince you that meta-learning or "learning to learn" is important for developing general artificial intelligence. I will show some examples of meta-learning approaches to predictive modeling, recommender systems or data clustering and discuss recent works on meta-learning for reinforcement learning by some of the top AI labs.

• Jan Romportl (Chief Data Scientist in O2)

“Do We Want Sentient AGI?”

Jan would like to illustrate on some examples why sentience is an important aspect of AGI: either its presence could be important (such as autonomous vehicles/planes), or its absence could be important (O2 and Big Data). The talk would also mention consciousness as an emergent phenomenon.

• GoodAI Researchers

After the talks you will get also plenty of time to network, meet other enthusiasts and hopefully start forming teams for the challenge!

About the Challenge?
General artificial intelligence R&D company GoodAI launched its General AI Challenge to tackle crucial research problems in human-level AI development. GoodAI will distribute $5mil in prizes among the various rounds of the multi-year Challenge. The Challenge kicks off with a 6-month warm-up round, open to the worldwide community of researchers and programmers (both for individuals and teams). GoodAI wants to incentivize the community to focus on developing safe and beneficial general purpose artificial intelligence. General AI is humanity’s biggest frontier and the ultimate leverage to expedite advancements in science and technology, tackle diseases, and learn more about our universe. The organizers of the Challenge have partnered with Microsoft Czech Republic and Slovakia and NVIDIA to empower talented researchers and programmers who would otherwise lack computational resources for their experiments. To help develop their solutions, participants worldwide will be provided with free access to Microsoft Azure cloud space. In addition to monetary prizes, participants will get a chance to win a cutting-edge NVIDIA GPU. The champions of the warm-up round will be free to share their solution with the world under an open license, if they decide to do so.
