In Prescott it can be hard to meet people your own age. This is a social group for people who are interested in going out and meeting new people. We can't wait to meet you. I know attending your first event can be hard. I hope you come and join in the fun. When you join please make sure that your profile picture is a clear picture of only you. This makes it much easier to recognize people when you attend meetups. If you have any suggestions for meetups, or you would like to become an organizer, please feel free to message me.
Let's go hike the Groom Creek Loop Trail. It is a 9 mile hike and it is an intermediate trail. Please make sure that you wear proper hiking attire, and bring lots of water and snacks. If you are not at the trailhead by 9:15 we will begin the hike without you if we haven't heard from you, but please be considerate of the group and try to be on time.
Groom Creek Loop Trail #307 is one of the most attractive trails on the Prescott National Forest, offering a rewarding hike through the area’s forested high country. This trail passes through idyllic stands of ponderosa pine and Gambel oak as it climbs to the top of Spruce Mountain. While there are no actual spruce trees on the peak, there are Douglas fir and a number of other cone-bearing species that thrive in the cool mountain conditions. A picnic area, a vault toilet, and a lookout tower are located at the top of the trail. Hikers may visit the lookout tower when it is staffed, usually throughout the summer months. The views, of course, are stunning.
How to get there:
From its intersection with Gurley Street, travel south on Mt. Vernon Avenue for 6.4 miles as it becomes Senator Highway and passes through the community of Groom Creek. The trailhead is on the left-hand side of the road and is well signed. Groom Creek Horse Camp, also signed, is on the opposite side of the road. There is adequate parking for ten or more cars and six trailer units. The road conditions are paved.
This event is in conjunction with the Prescott Area Single Friends group.
Bring your singing skills (or alcohol induced skills) to Karaoke night. The songs will be played on a large sound system and a big screen TV. There will also be music and dancing throughout the night. So even if you don't sing, come and have some fun!
Afterwards, we can shoot pool, air hockey, darts, ping pong, etc.
This is a potluck event, so bring a snack or side dish, and I will make buffalo dip and Mango salsa.
Bring your favorite drink and if you overindulge, please have a designated driver or call an Uber.
I will send the address to all attending members.
