Cold Plunge in Boulder Creek - Extreme Nature Experience

Eben G. Fine Park

Let's jump in the super cold water!!! 90+ second cold exposure!

Why?
This is a chance for you to interact with something as pure and unrelenting as ice cold water. What that does is it allows you to tap into the primal regions of your brain. You can literally tap into your autonomic nervous system.

You can learn a lot about yourself from this experience! It's also amazing at calming inflammation in the body, and improves your mitochondrial and cellular health. Plus you end up feeling amazing afterwards.

The hardest part is committing. Showing up and getting into that water!!! JUST DO IT!!!

I prefer to do it like this:
1.) I ride my bike to the park so I'm already warmed up. check in for others who are joining.
2.) I take layers of clothing off.
3.) I start doing push ups, squats, pull ups, jumping and a little running. I'm getting myself amped up and ready for an adrenaline rush. I'm breathing fully and feeling my blood circulating.
4.) I then walk into the water up to my neck. Breathing fully. It's so cold it actually feels hot to me.
5.) I keep breathing and moving my fingers and stay in the water for about[masked] seconds
6.) I walk out of the water and continue to breath fully.
7.) I walk around a bit and because it's Colorado, in a couple minutes I'm mostly dry.
8.) Put my warm layers on and check in with others who are also doing a cold plunge.

There is also a larger group that meets here at this time and does Wim Hof breathing techniques before getting into the water. I prefer to do my workouts and then get into the water but the breathing techniques can really help people who struggle to breath fully! To each their own! Just get in the damn water!!!

~You need to bring your body and a whole lot of willingness to do something uncomfortable that you know is good for you.
~Some people bring Water shoes or toe shoes help out to avoid hurting your feet when in the water.
~Gloves and a hat also help some people stay warm before and after the water.

!!!If you have heart problems, thyroid problems, or are actively sick in any way obviously this is not for you!!!
