Welcome to our group! Primal Wellness Running Group is more than just your average running group! PWRG is an educational running group designed to help you create more open communication with your body and discover the true needs of YOUR body for your optimal health and wellness which is more than just following the latest trends or a predetermined running schedule. There is not cost or obligation for the meetups in this group.
Although diet and exercise are key components to health and wellness, they make up only one third of the complete picture. PWRG is about improving your health and wellness through more than just your diet and exercise. The unique aspect about this group is the experience of wellness as it is specific to your needs and allowing you to discover the specific needs for your body.
We will be providing information, experiences and techniques that allow you to explore how to adjust the different aspects of your running skill, form and technique which will enhance your overall wellness, as well as improve your event time. These pointers are easy to understand and follow, while being able to apply these techniques to best fit what your body needs in order to increase your best health and wellness.
Running has many benefits, which includes: weight loss, increased heart health, stress management, improved oxygen absorption, better sleep and much more.
However, the challenges that can arise include, increased injury risk, more wear and tear on the body, increased stress, and even more fatigue and weight gain in some cases. I will be addressing how to gain the most benefit from running, how to avoid the issues that can arise, and how to maximize your benefits from your running program.
Some of what we will experience includes: uncovering your motivation, nutrition, exercise, stress management, rest/recovery, injury prevention and connecting with nature.
Note: To start, I will be having one meeting per week to build up interest. As we grow, I envision meeting multiple times per week with this group providing the support for your specific events and goals that you desire to achieve!
The general format for our meet ups is a short presentation/discussion and then a run/walk with a suggested distance that you can complete at your own pace or you can choose your own distance as it works best for your needs. Ideally, as the group grows, we will have the ability to group people together with similar pace, distances and goals. We will be covering specific topics roughly one time per week prior to getting out and doing some running.
As an Integrative Movement Science Practitioner and a Holistic Lifestyle Coach, I take a holistic approach to wellness and in this case for running. I educate people on the benefits to a holistic approach to your wellness while addressing the root cause to many reasons people become limited and even injured during running programs. All levels are welcome, and the meetups are no cost!
