Spring is the perfect season to promote your outdoor environmental portraiture or lifestyle photography. With the right lens and technique you can render gorgeous backgrounds that resemble fine art paintings. Whether you are a photographer for passion or profit, this lecture will teach you innovative and portable techniques for capturing stunning natural light and breath-taking composition in any situation. Philip will share a career of photography secrets with you... pulling highlights from his highly-rated lectures on 9/29 (https://www.meetup.com/Prince-William-Professional-Photographers-VA-DC/events/14569835/) & 12/29/2010 (https://www.meetup.com/Prince-William-Professional-Photographers-VA-DC/events/14569876/) (see our current Woodbridge Patch announcement (http://woodbridge-va.patch.com/events/pwppa-show-me-the-lighttm-lifestyle-photography-wexisting-light#c)and article (http://woodbridge-va.patch.com/articles/looking-towards-the-horizon#photo-1881520)) and upcoming workshops (http://showme.eventbrite.com). Optimizing available light means that you photograph prior to dawn or through sunset. My clients and I prefer the latter and sunset is close to 8:30pm for these. I'm still updating some of the details but you get the topics, titles, dates, and registration here:

Here is a quote from a friend and colleague that exemplifies the features of Philip's lifestyle photography trademark style:

On Sunday I participated as a helper for Philip Brasch’s “Children, from Smile to Finish™ with Adobe Lightroom 2®” workshop. Philip is a good friend and an awesome photographer who specializes in portraiture and weddings. The workshop, which took place both in-class and outdoors at “Dolphin Beach” in Montclair, VA was a great opportunity for beginning as well as advanced photographers to learn some Lightroom tweaks, workflow tips and most importantly, capturing beautiful images with all natural light – which is Philip’s specialty. Watching Philip work and interacting with the people he photographs is very inspiring. Four years ago I actually assisted Philip in a few weddings and what really intrigued me was his ability to work in any given lighting situation and maximizing the usage of available light.

-- from Moshe Zusman's blog -- Moshe is an outstanding wedding, portrait, and commercial photographer.

Philip's passion for photography began in his high school years when he purchased his first 35mm film camera, a Pentax ME. 10 years ago Philip developed photography as a profession by studying under and working for a few of the great wedding and portrait photographers on the East coast (including James Roy (https://www.meetup.com/Prince-William-Professional-Photographers-VA-DC/photos/1239977/#21100557), Clay Blackmore, and Doug Gordon). Influenced by their styles and techniques, he has developed a new genre of wedding, environmental, and existing light portrait photography now popularly known as Lifestyle Photography: the use of the rules of traditional portrait lighting to maximize consistency in natural, existing light photography combined with the action of photojournalism.

His current endeavors include:

• Gallery no. 252 (http://www.gallery252.com) at http://www.gallery252.com specializing in weddings, portraits, and commercial photography

• ShowMe! Pro-Photo Seminars and Workshops (http://showme.eventbrite.com) at http://showme.eventbrite.com

• Photography lecturer and instructor (for latest, click here (https://www.meetup.com/Prince-William-Professional-Photographers-VA-DC/calendar/15353032/?from=list&offset=0))

• Community service as a public speaker, mentorship of aspiring photographers, and Founder and President of the Prince William Professional Photographers Association (PWPPA) To see examples of Philip's work visit http://www.gallery252.com and check out his albums on this site (https://www.meetup.com/Prince-William-Professional-Photographers-VA-DC/photos/1083821/#18325639).
