Title:
TV production goes to the cloud:
How to create live content in a time with no live events?
Abstract:
The current virus lockdown situation has created historic challenges for the live entertainment and sports industries. With no live sports or music events, content owners and broadcasters still have the challenge of entertaining a large group of people, most of whom are stuck at home watching TV or, most likely, Netflix. In this presentation we explain how Kiswe’s cloud commentator technology has helped content owners create new live content without a TV studio and with all their technical personnel and on air talent working from home. In April, Kiswe powered the “Virtual Tour of Flanders”, the first ever virtual professional cycling race where all riders and producers raced and worked out of their own homes. We will also include some insights on what it is like to work in a startup during lockdown and what future opportunities the current situation has created for innovation in the TV and streaming industry.
