Next Meetup

Hi everyone, One of our members, John, has kindly offered his home for this meetup where we will get together for a pot-luck meal and conversation. This will be the first home-based meetup for our group and should be really nice! His home is located in a lovely section of Princeton Township and I will provide the address to those who sign up. Parking will not be a problem. If anyone wants to come but needs a ride, just let me know. You can reach me at [masked]. John, our host, adds the following: he has a friendly dog who does not shed, a bunny (for whom he is seeking a good home by the way) and he requests that nobody bring any food with peanuts or hazelnuts. Also, he asks that you please bring a list of ingredients for any food that you prepare. With regard to food, we usually manage to have a varied collection of dishes without being too organized. Remember that every dish must be entirely vegan, no meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. Once again, no peanuts or hazelnuts. If you do not want to/like to cook, feel free to bring some type of pre-made vegan food from a restaurant or store. Looking forward to seeing you there! Laura

    What we're about

An opportunity to meet people with similar interests, read books relating to veganism, watch thought-provoking films, perhaps enjoy an occasional guest speaker and, most importantly, discuss ethics, animal rights, environment, economics, politics, psychology, and health as they relate to our dietary and other lifestyle choices. We will meet in Princeton, usually on weekends. This meetup offers support, sense of community, stimulating conversation, and plenty of vegan"food for thought" for those already enjoying the vegan lifestyle as well as those interested in learning more or contemplating veganism for themselves. Although books are assigned and highly recommended, it is not necessary to have completed the assigned reading to attend the meetup. In general, we will try to alternate between meetings where we discuss books (every other month) and meetings where we watch films relating to veganism or discuss specific issues. A donation of $5 will be requested to help cover room rental when necessary.
