Halloween has passed and 3D Printing can be a slow process, so it's time to start thinking about Christmas projects.
• We will be hosting the very talented Vicky Somma for our November 17th session. Vicky is a designer who uses 3D Printing in combination with other traditional pieces to produce some really cool projects. Vicky will show some of her creations and talk a little bit about the creative process that helped her realize them. 3D Design, 3D Printing techniques, upcycling of items that would be otherwise trash, painting, and assembling.
• Vicky is a self taught 3D Modeler and has been using her own printer for only about a year and a half. Prior to that, she had her designs produced by service bureau Shapeways and was a featured designer who they had represent their services at events. Some of her prouder accomplishments include having her custom designed ornaments on the Christmas Tree at the White House and in the Virginia Governor's Mansion. She was also the winner of the 2015 multi-materials in 3D Printing design contest at /r/3dprinting. You can learn more, both in general and about Vicky, on her very informative blog at TGAW.com (http://tgaw.com)
• She even made me this great bow tie for Father's Day :)
