PS#9: From Prototype to Mass Production, with Electric Objects' Jake Levine

From Prototype to Mass Production: 18 Months at a Hardware Startup
Electric Objects (https://www.electricobjects.com/) is the maker of the brand new EO1, a computer designed to bring the beauty of the Internet into your home. The company's founder, Jake Levine (https://twitter.com/jrlevine), will give us a first-hand account of what it has been like creating the EO1: from launching an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign, to prototyping, to traveling all over the world to get production up and running, and finally, mass production of a real-life hardware product.
Even if you're not actively working on a hardware product, this should be a great topic for anyone interested in turning their passion into a company. Our favorite part about Jake's story is that he had no prior experience with hardware (or even much programming), but still was able to build his own prototype to prove out what he wanted to create.
Join us at Betaworks HQ in the Meatpacking District for pizza, tips & learnings from Jake, and networking with some cool product managers, engineers, and designers.
