From Enterprise to Startup: How to be a successful Product Manager

In tech, the role of a Product and Program Manager is constantly evolving. Even within an organization, the role can be dramatically different, depending on the team and the product. Donna will talk about how the role evolved at Microsoft over the years, and what she's learned now from being at a startup. Then we'll lead an open discussion of how to adjust your role to suit your team and business needs. About the Speaker:

Donna Malayeri is a Product Manager at Pulumi, a local startup. She recently joined Pulumi, after 6 years as a Program Manager at Microsoft, working on projects such as Azure Functions, Azure Mobile Services, and F#. She's a self-described programming languages and serverless nerd. Outside of work, she enjoys performing amateur improv.

For the lightning talk session, anyone can come and speak on a product-related topic. Come share with the community. Talks will be a max of 10 mins and are completely free-form. No slides or anything are necessary, though you can use slides if you like. Submissions will be taken on the spot!

Directions:

Directions when you get to the building are a little funky! You can park in the parking garage in Lincoln South Tower on 105th and 4th St. Park on P4. Take the elevator to floor 2. Walk down the corridor marked "Market". Wait there and we will meet you to take you up to the meetup.

The parking garage is free after 8pm.
