Speaker1: Martyn Baker

Martyn is now Managing Partner at Gardn - a consultancy that helps new tech tell their stories, go to market and win new business.

Martyn’s talks are broken down into two parts.

Part1 - Storytelling for a startup (product or services).
It will focus on the importance of storytelling and building a strong narrative for your business. This will provide a practical framework that makes it easier for you to communicate your story and easier for your audience to understand it.

Part2 - Ideas to Say Yes To
In this second session is focused on selling to organisations. Most importantly, getting potential customers to stop and listen. Here we focus on your role as the problem solver and the principles behind people saying yes.

Martyn has built a wealth of sales experience at big tech organisations. Whether it was being part of the Twitter UK launch team, leading the adidas global advertising account throughout the World Cup, or managing the Telefonica business at Microsoft, ... Martyn understands what it takes to build, pitch and sell great ideas on both the local and global stage.

Talk: Making better product decisions with Jobs to be Done.

Joe will talk through this business friendly, practical, user centred design approach that helps uncover user needs and align an organisation around the jobs their customers need to do.

BIO:
Joe to his friends is the author of the book Psychology for Designers as well as a conference speaker and writer. Joe coaches product teams & execs at big organisations and start ups to help them build the right things in the right order for the right reasons. A recovering neuroscientist, then a spell as an elementary school teacher, Joe started his UX & product career 15 years ago. He has worked with big organisations like MoMA, Trainline, Disney, eBay and Marriott as well as helping to supercharge high growth businesses and startup. He is also a director and shareholder for small portfolio of startups.
